does it have to be a mercedes?
or is Audi A4 and 3series BMW fine as well?

then you could make a FDMR reservation and write in the text that you want a manual car.

especially Mercedes E Class is very often automatic at German rental companies.
with a c class, there is a chance at least.

As EUROWoman already suggested, FDMR is the most promising vehicle group for that purpose. Manual Mercedes C-Class models are perhaps not the most abundant vehicle in that group but still relatively common. If you make clear in your reservation request that you want a manual Mercedes and you book at a large station, e.g. Airport, large city centre station, you may get your preferences served.

Both Europcar and Sixt should have manual C-Classes in their fleet, so either one should be fine. Do you care at all about the engine btw? It just seems like an unusual request to have a manual Mercedes but without any constraints on the engine.

Also, be aware that due to your specific preference, the station might opt to serve you with a C-Class wagon. Just in case that's something you are looking to avoid.

Good luck with your reservation!

You won't find a manual E-class because they barely exist at all. Only the base spec E200 is available with a manual transmission, every other engine and all diesels come with the 9G auto as standard.

Your best bet would be a FDMR reservation, like Eurowoman said, but you might end up with a completely different car. Or you could visit the rental agency in person and ask if a manual C class merc is available, but that will cost you.
