Apologies that I'm writing this message in English. My German writing skills are not that great, but I can read it
I rent cars a few times a year at Sixt. The last 5 years I've spent more than € 5.500 on rentals with Sixt and was a happy & loyal customer.
Unfortunately this changed yesterday as Sixt cancelled my upcoming reservation (which I made in May) for coming friday. (prepaid IVMR)
There was no explanation at all, I had to travel to the Sixt office to get the answer .
The reason is that due to Corona the fleet is limited and all reservations for foreigners are cancelled (is this EU regulation proof?).
The only option I have is to rent a car in The Netherlands for a price that is 4x higher!
Are there any other people in this forum that are experiencing the same issue? Is the availability for cars with other rental firms better than Sixt?
The way Sixt is treating me now as a loyal customer is really bad. I now have only a few days left to think of a solution.
